Smog Technician Compensation and Benefits

Pay – From $20 to $27 Hourly. Smog Technician Qualifications

Must Have a Valid Driver’s License with clean record Smog License ASE Certificated highly preferred 2 to 3+ years’ experience in vehicle emissions testing Able to pass a drug test and background check

Experience – 2+ years’ experience conducting emissions test on various vehicles to ensure they meet state and federal standards.

Smog Technician Responsibilities

Conduc emissions tests on a variety of vehicles Diagnose and identify issues within a vehicle's emissions system Perform necessary repairs to ensure vehicles meet emissions standards Maintain detailed records of inspections and repairs Operate and maintain smog check equipment and tools
