CIMMYT seeks a Breeding Data Coordinator who provides support to scientific and technical staff from CIMMYT and NARS in ADCIN-WCA to manage sorghum, pearl millet and groundnut breeding data. This involves supporting the adoption of breeding management systems like BMS/EMS, enabling system users to create trials and nurseries, implement digital data collection, effectively operate digitization tools and to run data curation processes.
The location of this position will be Senegal.
Specific duties:
Contribute as a member of CIMMYT DCP breeding informatics group and provide data management support for targeted breeding programs. Assist researchers to troubleshoot day to day plant breeding data management operation. Support network breeding programs to develop and implement best practice & data management workflows. Help ensure effective use of breeding data management systems and digitalization tools. Provide introductory training and demos on EBS.
