Role Purpose
To provide IT expertise, advice and leadership in the design, creation, testing and documentation of new and enhanced applications and systems in accordance with agreed framework of programming standards. To assist in the development of IT operational implementation plans and associated IT processes, methods and techniques.

COBOL 5+ years’ experienceHOGAN 1 years’ experience beneficialNew programme development experience 4 yearsCoding of programs according to program specificationsInvestigate required changes / development.Document Preliminary Impact Analysis based on requirements and information provided.Knowledge sharing with team members.Communicate timeously any risk relating to delivery outside budget or schedule to Supervisor.Are you someone who has:
Strong programming skills in Cobol. This also implies the ability to follow the flow of programs.No problems in identifying the function of statements or code associated with programs.The ability to be accurate is of high importance, due to the nature of programs it is critical that applied code must be accurate and must perform functions as specified.Understanding of the layout of records from a report layout file must be accurate and the programmer must be able to define such output records.Programmers must be able to complete tasks accurately without the repeated intervention of a supervisor, Programmers must be able to contribute their skills to the tasks at hand, they must be productive and their skills and knowledge for which they are employed should be the key criteria when evaluating their performance. Experience relating to investigation and design skills would be beneficial.Qualifications and Experience
Minimum: B.Comm, B.Eng, BSC Eng, BSC Informatics or related degree.5 years + experience in programming and system design.Familiar with one or more programming languages as appropriate for the specific requirements of the department related to the field.System Design experience advantageous.Dare to imagine the change with us if you are:
