SOA/TRMS Weather Forecaster
**Position Summary** MAG Aerospace is currently bidding on a contract to provide flight training support services for the U.S. Army Special Operations Aviation Command (USASAOC) We are seeking highly qualified **Weather Forecaster** to support USASOAC’s 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment (160th SOAR) and the Special Operations Aviation Training Battalion (SOATB). **Essential Duties and Responsibilities** + Analyze climatic regimes, space weather effects on flight andground operations, geography, terrain, weather system characteristics, centralized weather products, and indigenoussurface and upper-air reports to forecast weather conditions for locations nationwide. + Identify, evaluate, and monitor significant weather developments, especially as they present potential impacts on SOATB operations. The Contractor shall discuss the location, intensity, movement, and development potential of weather features. + Participate in daily meteorological briefings to SOATB personnel. + Identify and evaluate data sources for applicability and quality. + Provide weather briefings and modify forecasts developed by other activities to provide information on exact conditions expected to be encountered by SOATB during projected timeframe for the area of operation. + Disseminate weather observations using local system and/or other local procedures. + Maintain a continuous weather watch or a basic weather watch as required by local procedures. Assist unit personnel by issuing and tracking weather advisories as required. **Requirements** + Minimum four years of aviation weather forecasting experience. + Knowledge of meteorology including meteorological methods, techniques, and practices, including weatherobserving, forecasting, communications, meteorological equipment, and support procedures. + Skill in using various METOC computer software applications. Specifically, the Air Force Weather WebService (AFWWEBS). + Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing to prepare and present guidance products,briefings, coordinate planning efforts, and manage program activities. + Completion of USAF Weather Forecast Apprentice Course or equivalent. + SECRET Clearance **Need help finding the right job?** We can recommend jobs specifically for you! **Job Locations** _KY-Ft.
