**Overview**
GovCIOisseekinga talented and creative Social MediaManagerto join our team to execute a results-driven social strategy to help grow our online presence, engage with our target audience, and drive brand awareness. This position will be remote inthe D.C. region. This position is a hybrid role,mustbe able to commute to our headquarterslocatedin Fairfax, Virginia.
**Responsibilities**
As our Social MediaManager, you will create and execute the social media strategy forGovCIOandGovCIOMedia & Research. Collaborating with the marketing team, you will create a content calendar, manage andmonitorour social media channels and engage with our online community.Assistingin the development of our social media marketing strategy, you will review analytics and create reports on key metrics to drive brand recognition, customer loyalty, and lead generation.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Social Media Management:
+ Manage andmaintainall ofour social media platforms (e.g., Facebook, X, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.).
+ Collaborate with marketing team to develop and implement a social media content calendar, ensuring consistent and relevant posting.
+ Provide feedback on the social media strategy.
+ Monitor and respond to comments, messages, and mentions withinGovCIO’stone and voice on social media.
+ Review analytics and create reports on key metrics.
+ Content Creation:
+ Write high-quality, succinct original copy for social media posts and promotional campaigns.
+ Ensure content is consistent with our brand,messagingand product goals, and drives engagement and conversions.
+ Assistin the creation and editing of written, video, and photo content.
+ Attend events and produce live and post-event social media content.
+ Event Support:
+ Assistin the planning and execution for in-person and virtual events to include pre-eventlogistics,with required in-office presence.
+ Work with in-house creative team on event branding, digitalassetsand promotional items.
+ Work with marketing team to promoteeventand increase audience acquisition.
+ Audience Engagement:
+ Foster and grow our online community by interacting with followers, customers, and industry influencers.
+ Monitor and analyze social media performance metrics tooptimizecontent and engagement strategies.
+ Paid Advertising:
+ Lead paid advertising campaigns on social media platforms, primarily LinkedIn
+ Monitor ad performance and make data-driven adjustments to improve ROI.
+ Employee Advocacy (EA):
+ Own the EA initiative, deciding which content to promote and writing all copy foradvocates
+ Send weekly messages to employee advocatesandgrow the programby addingadditionaladvocates
+ Social Media Trends and Research:
+ Stay up to date with the latest social media trends and algorithms.
+ Conduct market research toidentifyopportunities for growth and new platforms to explore.
**Qualifications**
**Required Skills and Experience:**
+ Bachelor'sdegreewith 3-5 years of relevant experience
+ Preferred degree in marketing, communications, or a related field.
+ 1-3year's experienceinasimilar role.
+ Comprehensive understanding of social media platforms and best practices.
+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
+ Ability to analyze and interpret social media performance data.
+ Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
+ Self-motivated and able to work independently and as part of a team.
+ Understand the nuances and timing for changes to tone and style.
+ Impeccable time management skills with the ability to multitask and work under pressure to meet deadlines.
+ Ability to understand historical,currentand future trends in the digital content and social media space.
+ Excellent social listening skills.
+ Passionfor social media andproficiencywith major social media platforms and social media management tools.
+ Strong copywriting andcopy-editingskills.
+ Familiar with Eventbrite, Sprout Social, Trello, Monday, HubSpot and similar platforms.
**Preferred Qualification:**
+ Experience managing social media in a newsroom.

Posted Pay Range
The posted pay range, if referenced, reflects the range expected for this position at the commencement of employment, however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, education, experience, and internal equity. The total compensation package for this position may also include other compensation elements, to be discussed during the hiring process. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the GovCIO reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, GovCIO or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
**Posted Salary Range**
USD $80,000.00 - USD $85,000.00 /Yr.
