Social Media Specialist
Summary

Lidl US is searching for the next Media Specialist to join our team! The Media Specialist will continue to build a presence for Lidl as a brand to watch on social media as well as integrate our messaging into the online community in a compelling and valuable way. The role is responsible for moderating user-generated content and building ongoing relationships with customers, potential customers, media and influencers. This role operates in close collaboration with all with all marketing and PR teams to develop, execute and maximize all marketing initiatives supported by social media.

 

**This position reports to our Headquarters in Arlington, VA on a hybrid 3-day schedule.

What You’ll Do

•    Oversee and manage assigned projects and/or departments data, ensuring it meets predetermined contractual or policy requirements  
•    Conduct data entry and data management for various department projects 
•    Assist with the development of training materials such as manuals, handbooks, presentations, diagrams, workflows, and project plans 
•    Build and maintain a weekly content calendar for social media posts
•    Schedule posts on corporate social media channels
•    Monitor social media comments and messages
•    Summarize insights and conversations to create actionable stakeholder reports that lead to optimization and make recommendations for future campaigns
•    Maintain the department inbox and respond to all inquires and requests, both internal and external
•    Manage all influencer collaborations both direct and in-platform
•    Conduct competitor research on social channels
•    Maintain influencer budget tracker and work with Marketing Project Management  team to onboard new vendors
•    Work with the Creative Production team on graphics, videos and post captions that align with company brand standards
•    Develop content for all grand store openings
•    Perform other duties as assigned


 

What You’ll Need

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities 
•    Excellent verbal and written communication skills 
•    Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail 
•    Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software 
•    Ability to work independently 
•    Social media experience including work with Influencers
•    Understanding of social network pages - design, functionality, users, advertising 
•    Ability to work collaboratively with other departments 
•    Good problem solver with cost/benefit approach

 
Required Education, Certifications/ Licenses, Related Experience  
•    Bachelor’s degree  
•    1-3 years of experience in a related field
•    In lieu of degree, 5+ years of experience in related field will meet the education and related experience requirements listed above 
 

Physical Job Requirements
•    Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer 
•    Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times 

 

Travel Requirements
•    Overnight domestic travel required to visit stores, regional offices and/or distribution centers up to 25 - 30% of the time by air, vehicle, and/or train
