Social Media Specialist

The Social Media Specialist position is responsible for supporting the Digital & Social Media Specials and Realities team in the creation, activation and performance analysis of programs across multi-platforms, including, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok & other social networks. This position will works in the planning and implementation of social media initiatives to enhance Telemundo’s programming.  Responsibilities:  • Lead the development and activation of Social Media initiatives across platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, Telemundo.com, and more.  • Create, plan and execute all content and promotion for Specials, Realities and Syndicated digital properties on Telemundo • Produce and execute original ideas for photo galleries, video features and articles with SEO copywriting skills.  • Close coordination with programming, promotions and production for digital/social projects.  • Organize calendars in coordination with programming editorial team.  • Organize an archive with content produced for each programming tent-pole.  • Moderate social media platforms associated with the properties on a daily basis.  • Crosspromote tent-pole programming with other sections within Telemundo  • Active contributor in team planning and development of social media initiatives surrounding programming launches, client programs and special network events.  • Manage cross-promotional efforts through social media platforms and execution of TV integrations for major Telemundo, NBCUniversal and client partnership initiatives.  • Experience with research and analytics tools including and not limited to Facebook Insights, Trendrr, Hootsuite, Sherablee and Omniture among others. Qualifications:  • Bachelor’s degree in Journalism or Communications or at least 3 years experience working for a Television Network  • Bilingual (Written and Spoken)  • Excellent English and Spanish writing skills required  • Experience producing content for the Internet required  • Knowledge of Social Platforms and user engagement required  • Complete knowledge of Photoshop required  • Full understanding of Marketing, Public Relations and Social Media campaigns  • Experience working with a web-based CMS required  Eligibility Requirements:  • Interested candidate must submit a resume/CV through www.nbcunicareers.com to be considered  • Willingness to travel and work overtime, and on weekends with short notice  • Must be willing to work in Miami  • Must be willing to submit to a background investigation  • Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States  • Must be 18 years or older  • Must be fluent in Spanish (speak, read & write)  Desired Characteristics: • Strong knowledge of Specials, Realities and Entertainment genre desired  • Experience in journalism, publicity or promotions desired  • Passionate for Social Media & Evolution of Technology  • Keen ability to express creative ideas and contribute to developing innovative concepts  • Corporate communication skills to communicate with senior management  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and a dynamic ever-changing environment  As part of our selection process, external candidates may be required to attend an in-person interview with an NBCUniversal employee at one of our locations prior to a hiring decision.
