Social Media Specialist
**What's the role?** **REQUIRED TASKS:** + Create timely and compelling social media posts for all of The Australian’s various social media channels, including bespoke executions for LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, X and Pinterest using Canva, Emplifi and Later + Grow subscriptions via our social channels + Increase traffic referrals + Provide content for The Australian’s paid social media program, including creating organic posts for boosting and attending weekly results meetings and matching audience segments with content + Grow our followers on each of our social accounts + Closely monitor engagement and acquisition analytics and apply them to identify key trends, content opportunities and respond to audience demand + Identify daily vertical video opportunities and work with the video team to execute them + Attend digital standup, AM, PM and weekend news conferences and content planning meetings and make contributions to the discussions + Collaborate with news desk and section editors on social media strategy and roll out, including card posts, link posts, reels, stories and vertical video + Take daily direction from the Off-Platform editor **Who are you?** Strong copy writing skills + Creativity and flair + Attention to detail + An understanding of graphic design principles + Using audience insights to inform content selection for various channels + An understanding of The Australian’s editorial values, standards and style + The ability to package content for different audience segments and channels using picture selection, graphics, sells, calls to action + Enthusiasm, drive and and a willingness to learn new software applications and across content management systems + A high level or organisation and an ability to meet rolling deadlines + A collaborative approach **News Benefits** News Benefits is our way of saying thank you to our people for their valued contribution to News, our audiences, clients and communities.
