The Position
Social Services Program Specialists perform administrative and professional work in conjunction with the administration of statewide public assistance, medical assistance, or social services programs.
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform advanced-level work and may provide work direction and training to others. Aging and Disability Services Division is currently recruiting for a full time Social Service Program Specialist 2 position in Carson City or Las Vegas, Nevada, depending upon the location of the selected candidate. This recruitment may be used to fill current and future vacancies as they occur in the following program(s): Community Based Care Quality Assurance unit.
The incumbent will complete reviews, train and act as a liaison for providers as necessary within the Quality Assurance unit. Duties include presentations based on programs to various sized audiences, provider trainings, participation in work groups, assisting providers with inquiries, HCBS settings rule compliance, conducting provider reviews, assistance with grant management, producing reports on a regular basis, developing spreadsheets to facilitate data analysis and make recommendations for the betterment of the program. This position is a supervisory position. To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a field of study pertinent to the program assignment and one year of professional experience providing social services to clients or program development and evaluation which required the application of regulations, laws, policies and procedures in making determinations; OR Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a field of study pertinent to the program assignment and one year of professional experience providing medical assistance programs services or healthcare services to clients or program compliance and evaluation which required the application of regulations, laws, policies and procedures in making determinations; OR one year of experience as a Social Services Program Specialist I in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.
Special Notes
The ability to travel at least 25% of the time is required.

This position requires a valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility at the time of appointment and for continuing employment.
