**HARBORVIEW MEDICAL CENTER SOCIAL WORK** has an outstanding opportunity available for a **SOCIAL WORK ASSISTANT - EIP CCOORDINATOR to join the MADISON CLINIC** .
**WORK SCHEDULE**
• Full-Time / 40 hours per week
• Day Shift
**POSITION HIGHLIGHTS**
• The Madison Clinic is an interdisciplinary, outpatient primary care clinic, located within Harborview Medical Center, which serves individuals living with HIV as well as those who are at high-risk of acquiring HIV.
• The Madison Clinic case management program receives grant funding to provide financial advocacy to patients who are receiving HIV care at Madison Clinic. Many of the patients served at Madison Clinic have complex psychosocial needs and financial advocacy is a critical component of their healthcare access.
• This position will provide services to HMC patients within assigned service area while adhering to the parameters of HMC policies and procedures and NASW Code of Ethics.
**PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:**
• Provide assistance and advocacy to clinic patients in support of medical and financial benefits, to include:
• Assessment of individual patients’ financial needs and program eligibility. Specifically, eligibility for Ryan White HIV services.
• Advocate on patients’ behalf within WA Department of Health re: eligibility for Early Intervention Services (EIP) and other Ryan White services.
• Maintain working knowledge of payer options and associated program requirements, to include commercial insurance, DSHS, Social Security, and disease-specific programs.
• Track approval and expiration dates for various program benefits including Medicaid coverage, EIP/ADAP/Ryan White Eligibility.
• Advise and assist patients in understanding and managing HMC billing.
• Maintain working knowledge of basic medical conditions, terminology and community resources pertaining to assigned service area.
**REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:**
Bachelor of Social Work or a Bachelor’s Degree in the behavioral sciences AND two years experience as a Social Work Assistant I or equivalent.
OR
an Associate of Arts Degree in the behavioral sciences AND four years of work experience as a Social Work Assistant I or equivalent.
