As a Social Worker with Change Grow Live Newham you will role model and lead ethical and evidence-based practice, focusing on the experience of people who use our service. You will work alongside other members of the leadership team providing advice and consultation of risk, safeguarding and complex need. You will bring forward social justice and professional accountability to decision making and work collaboratively with our multi-disciplinary team and external partners to ensure safe and effective practice. 

 

Where: Newham

Hours: 37.5 per week (full time)

Salary: £36,635.37 - £43,814.50 dependent on experience (based on full time working hours, pro rata if part time)

Allowance: £4,072.06 Inner London Weighting

Responsibilities

About the role:

The role will encompass a shared responsibility for Designated Safeguarding Lead within the service where the candidate will be responsible for providing advice and consultation on risk, safeguarding and complex need. The role will support the wider service in enhancing its response to safeguarding and complex need, ensuring balanced and evidenced based decisions are made in the best interest of service users. The candidate will represent the service in wider partnership meetings such as Domestic Abuse Risk Management Meetings, MARAC, Strategy Discussions and Best Interest meetings. The role is managed by the Senior Social Worker and sits within the Family Project; the candidate will work alongside the Young Person’s Service to ensure collaborative approaches are embedded and offered to service users. The role will work alongside Recovery Coordinators and other specialists to develop meaningful and individual interventions to support recovery and reduce risk.

About you:

Hold a valid qualification in Social Work and be registered with Social Work England Experience in leadership and the development of others using reflective practice Be confident in complex decision making and have excellent skills in communication and defensible decision makingExperience and knowledge of the working practice of safeguarding adults and children Excellent team working, collaboration and creative skills Be able to work flexibly across operational sites as required. There may be a need for evening and weekend work to ensure service provision is upheld.
