**Overview** M Health Fairview- The University of Minnesota Medical Center has a 0.6 FTE (3 days/ week; Wednesday through Friday) opening available for a MSW on our Cystic Fibrosis team. There is an every 6th weekend and 1 holiday per year component to the position working inpatient. The role of the cystic fibrosis (CF) social worker involves supporting adults with cystic fibrosis, as well as their families. The social worker will provide essential emotional, social, and psychological support as patients navigate the challenges of living with a chronic illness. As a key member of the CF care team, the social worker will collaborate closely with providers, nurses, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare professionals in both outpatient clinic and inpatient hospital settings. The social worker will assist patients and families in coping with the impact of CF on their daily lives, providing support in areas such as grief and loss, adjusting to life with a chronic illness, managing depression and anxiety, and helping with employment-related challenges.
