Responsible to coordinate support services and psychosocial services for the cancer center. Provides individual and group support services to address the psychosocial needs of patients and families. Provides counseling, assesses patient needs, and assists individuals/families or groups who are affected by cancer that may impair their ability to function normally.
Principal Accountabilities:
Provides individual and group support to address the psychosocial needs of patients and families.
Participates in multidisciplinary rounds; Coordinates patient education and other programs to address patient needs related to oncology support services. Conducts assessments, develops an integrated plan and makes appropriate interventions to address patient and family needs. Participates in special programs (e.g., survivor's day, memorial service, etc.) alternating chair responsibilities; Participates in marketing and public relations efforts as necessary; Maintains appropriate statistics and generates reports as requested
