The Behavioral Health Specialist (BHS) is a key mental health provider embedded in Swedish primary care clinics. The BHS works as a core member of a multi-disciplinary collaborative team led by the primary care provider that may involve clinic nursing staff, system-wide care and case management staff, pharmacists, substance abuse specialists, and psychiatrists. The role of the BHS at Swedish is to serve the needs of the whole patient, which will require flexibility and an ability to provide different types and intensity of services.
