Job Overview:

The Social Worker MSW provides evaluative and inpatient mental health services to the patients/family of the inpatient unit. Maintains close contact with community providers serving the patients. Prepares and maintains records and reports regarding patient treatment and progress as required by regulatory standards and organizational policy. Participate as an integral part of the Milieu to provide a safe and secure treatment environment. Participate in the unit PI/QA programs and hospital quality improvement efforts. Responsible for reporting identified safety issues such as hazardous environments i,e,damaged floors/walls/ceiling tiles/unsecured areas and medical errors, etc,

Qualifications:

Required:

Master's Degree in Social WorkNJ LSW or LCSW License3 years experience/traning working in a mental health settingExperience/training in individual, group and family therapyKnowledge of behavioral therapy concepts

Essential Functions:

Functions as a member of the multidisciplinary treatment team to formulate individualized treatment plans through establishing patient treatment needs and methods of addressing these needs. Areas addressed in the treatment plan shall include: Observed psychopathology, psychosocial/family assessments, legal status, daily functioning, available community support, educational status and the accurate and timely assessment of current mental status.Performs evaluations of patients and their families according to the time frames established through unit policies and procedures. Performs direct psychotherapy treatment services, such as individual, group and family therapies according to established goals and objectives of individual patient treatment plans. Functions as a liaison with community providers to maintain productive relationships.Prepares and maintains accurate records and reports as they relate to patient assessment, treatment and progress, court hearing and case reviews, inclusive of USTF forms for State. Documentation must adhere to regulations set forth by all regulatory, organizational and official agencies.Serves as a member of the unit s quality assurance teamPerforms other duties as requested.
