Social Worker - OB/GYN Mobile - Full Time (up to $10,000 Sign-on Bonus)
Summary: Guthrie PMH program is seeking a warm, empathic, skilled therapist to provide mental health support to individuals on our Maternity/GYN Mobile Unit and/or OBGYN clinics or LDRP locations. This role is crucial in offering mental health counseling and therapeutic services to pregnant individuals and those in the postpartum period, addressing a wide range of emotional and psychological needs related to pregnancy, childbirth, and the early stages of parenthood, or have experienced loss. The therapist will work closely with other healthcare providers within the mobile unit, delivering holistic care to patients in a comfortable, accessible, and non-judgmental environment. This role will require travel to and from the host site locations when working on the mobile unit. Mobile Unit will travel to NY and PA. Experience: Preferred minimum of two years of experience providing mental health therapy, with a focus on perinatal, maternal, or women’s health. Experience in providing therapy in a mobile health setting, outpatient department and/or LDRP, or in outreach services is a plus. Comfortable working individually, dyadically with mother and baby, and within family system including with partners and family members. Appropriate candidate must have knowledge of maternal mental health and attachment theories. Licenses: LCSW/LMSW or other related education/training (LMHC, LMFT, etc.) Preferred but not required: Current PMH-C (if not current, require willingness to pursue certification). Essential Functions: 1. Provide individual, group, and/or family therapy sessions to pregnant individuals and new parents dealing with perinatal or post-partum mental health disorders or undergoing fertility treatment (e.g., prenatal and postpartum depression, anxiety, trauma, grief, etc.). 2. Assess and diagnosing patients, then refer and/or provide mental health treatment/follow up accordingly. 3. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings. 4. Provide crisis intervention services as necessary, including referrals for immediate care or support. 5. Facilitate connection of patients to additional community services, healthcare organizations, etc. 6. Facilitate insurance queries, assist patients with obtaining state funded insurance coverage. 7. Work collaboratively with the mobile unit's medical team or department team (if in OBGYN or LDRP) (nurses, midwives, and other health professionals) to ensure an integrated and holistic approach to patient care. 8. Coordinate with community resources, such as local mental health services, support groups, and social service agencies, to enhance patient support. 9. Advocate for patients' mental health needs within the broader healthcare team. 10. Facilitate community speaking events in coverage areas to conduct educational workshops or group therapy sessions. 11. Assist in the smooth operation of the mobile unit by providing emotional support to individuals in the mobile unit setting, or, assist in a smooth operation of the department of OBGYN or LDRP by providing emotional support to individuals in the outpatient or inpatient setting. 12. Ensure that a safe, confidential, and comfortable environment is maintained for clients. 13. Manage and prioritize caseloads, including scheduling, patient follow-up, and ongoing care assessments. 14. Document all patient interactions, assessments, treatment plans, and progress in compliance with professional and legal standards.
