Social Worker - Pediatric Services

This is a non-exempt position with typical working hours of Monday-Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm.

Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Handle referrals and incoming phone calls, providing the initial social history, coordinating agency services, gathering of information, scheduling evaluations, keeping records updated and planning for eventual discharge. Determine funding resources. Work in conjunction with the billing office to ensure family’s funding resources have been appropriately identified and utilized.Provide supportive counseling and case management to clients and their families.Assume an advocacy role on behalf of disabled individuals. Maintain contact with referral systems and other community agency services. Assist clients in the acquisition of services from other agencies as appropriate.Maintain documentation and records accurately and timely, including initial intakes, progress notes, log sheets, time sheets, agency discharge summaries, etc., required by accrediting agencies, third party payers, physicians, and the agency.Assist other personnel in the area of client discipline / behavior modification to assure team programming.Participate in continuing education to keep informed of new procedures / techniques / programs in the field of rehabilitation and social work as necessary to maintain licensure and / or specialized certifications. Complete all agency mandatory in-services and competency testing annually. Attend meetings, in-service training, and other community related activities as assigned.Provide supervision and training for any students in Social Work and Human Services programs with an internship at Turnstone.

Ability to make independent decisions within the scope of duties.Ability to apply counseling skills in a therapeutic manner.Strong verbal and written communication skills.Knowledge of community services and resources.The ability to develop and maintain excellent interpersonal relationships with staff and clients.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, or a Bachelor’s degree in another related field.At least one year of experience in the social services field.Preferred: LSW or LBSW certification. Apply
