Summary The Social Worker serves as the Psychosocial Rehabilitation and Recovery Center (PRRC) Coordinator in the Behavioral Health and Sciences Care Line at Salisbury VAMC. Responsibilities Coordinates evidence-based psychosocial and recovery-oriented services for Veterans with a serious mental illness Serves as leader for a multi-disciplinary team Provides individual and group therapy, as well as, recovery coaching Conducts biopsychosocial intakes and completes all clinical paperwork as assigned by Intensive Services Program Manager Plans and coordinates work and solves problems related to the work Responsible for program needs such as material, equipment, and facilities needed to complete work Explains and gains the support of employees for developing, implementing and managing policies and establishing goals, in addition to working to achieve the objectives of government-wide personnel programs and policies Advises management on the establishment of program goals, priorities, and major work schedules, develops short/long-rang staffing and equipment requirements Provides technical supervision for a peer specialist and/or discipline-specific trainees Responsible for providing an appropriate treatment environment for patients treated or co-managed by PRRC and/or outpatient or inpatient services Fosters and supports the use of novel rehabilitation techniques and sensitive, tactful, supervision of patients and personnel\ Ensures that all staff works cooperatively with physicians, counseling psychologists, and other staff members in matters related to community relations, total program planning and individual patient treatment Responsible compliance of all performance measures Work Schedule: 8:00a - 4:30p Telework: Ad-hoc Relocation/Recruitment Incentives: N/A Requirements Conditions of Employment You must be a U.S. Citizen to apply for this job. Qualifications Basic Requirements: Citizenship: Be a citizen of the United States Education: Have a master's degree in social work from a school of social work fully accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE). Graduates of schools of social work that are in candidacy status do not meet this requirement until the school of social work is fully accredited. A doctoral degree in social work may not be substituted for the master's degree in social work Licensure: Must be licensed or certified by a state to independently practice social work at the master's degree level English Language Proficiency: Must be proficient in spoken and written English to be appointed as authorized by 38 U.S.C. ยง 7403(f) Grade Determination GS-12: Must have at least one year of experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level, in which the experience demonstrates a possession of advanced practice skills and judgment, demonstrating progressively more professional competency Demonstrated Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: In addition to the experience above, the candidate must demonstrate all of the following KSA's: (a) Knowledge of program coordination and administration which includes consultation, negotiation, and monitoring. (b) Knowledge and ability to write policies, procedures, and/or practice guidelines for the program. (c) Ability to supervise multidisciplinary staff assigned to the program. (d) Skill in organizing work, setting priorities, meeting multiple deadlines, and evaluating assigned program area(s). (e) Ability to provide training, orientation, and guidance within clinical practice. Licensure/Certification: Must be licensed or certified at the advanced practice level, and must be able to provide supervision for licensure. The full performance level of this vacancy is GS-12.
