2.8.1 The contractor shall serve as contract specialist. Contract Specialist will be required to support the full range of cradle to grave contracting activities. Support shall cover a wide range of customers on acquisitions to include procurement of complex and diversified items, services, and research and development.\n
2.8.2 The contractor shall provide support to organizations requiring contracting services as directed by the government. The contractor shall perform market research\/analysis to determine availability of the requirement, analyzes market trends, commercial practices, conditions and technological advances, and selects appropriate techniques and procedures to solve any acquisition problem. The contractor shall analyze difficult contracting issues and determines recommended courses of action, which may depart from previous approaches. The contractor shall provide business advice and assistance to technical personnel involved in the development of the statement of work or data requirements.\n
2.8.3 Contract Specialist shall support both classified and unclassified efforts. This position is subject to special programs and read-ons.\n
2.8.4 Contract Specialist shall assist with the request for proposal (RFP) preparations.\n
2.8.5 Contract Specialist shall assist the supporting proposal evaluation, assisting the USG Contracting Officers in negotiations.\n
2.8.6 Contract Specialist shall assist with reviews of contractor performance and reports of contract discrepancies.\n
2.8.7 Contract Specialist shall assist with the administration and completion of contract\/task order\/purchase order modifications to include closeouts.\n
Minimum Requirements:\n
\n\nBachelor's Degree from an accredited College or University\n\n\n5 years of user\/technical experience with Standard Procurement System (SPS) and\/or CON IT\n\n\nOperates within a multifunctional high OPTEMPO environment supporting many customers\n\n\nExtensive experience with USSOCOM procurement policies\n\n\nAdept knowledge of the FAR, DFAR, and SOFAR\n\n\nDefense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Action Acquisition Level II Contracting certification or equivalent\n\n\nFunction at a level of performance similar up to mid-range NH-III\n\n
