Soft Craft Foreman

The Soft Craft Foreman will supervise SIPA crafts in the construction, assembly, and maintenance. Other duties may be assigned.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

Oversee SIPA crafts. Cover or seal insulation with preformed plastic covers, canvas strips, sealant or tape to secure insulation to the structure - according to the type of insulation used and structure covered, using staple gun, trowel, paintbrush, or caulking gun. Determines type of scaffold needed and how to properly instruct on how to install. Oversight of transport tubular scaffold or other structural material and erects the scaffold as instructed by the scaffold builder. Hoists scaffolding materials upward in order to erect temporary structure. Properly secures and levels locking sections of scaffolding material. Properly secures scaffold to the permanent structure for added stability. Adheres to all OSHA, site specific and Austin Industrial requirements for the erecting and navigation of the scaffolding. Supervises the dismantling of scaffolding when it has been properly communicated to do so. Inspects and properly stows scaffolding material after dismantling. Performs final inspection of completed scaffolding. Must be able to perform work wearing personnel protective equipment. Including but not limited to the following: rain gear, chemical protective clothing, supplied air and air purifying respirators, safety harness, sand blast hoods, fire resistant coveralls, hard hat, ear plugs and safety glasses. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to have full range of mobility in upper and lower body, able to reach overhead, able to work in various positions, including, but not limited to, stooping, standing, bending over, sitting, kneeling, squatting; use hands to handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; work at heights; balance for extended periods of time. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications Required for this Position:

Education – no minimum education requirements.

Experience – 3 to 5 years of experience in an Industrial setting.

Must pass drug screen and background check, as condition of employment.
