JOB SUMMARY:

Polaris Industries, Inc. is looking for a Software Application Architect to work in an exciting, fast-paced environment. As an Application Architect on the Polaris team, you would be dedicated to an agile product team where you would be responsible for overseeing the design and development of software applications along with collaborating with other Application Architects and Solution Architects to execute consistent design patterns and principles ensuring that enterprise application design standards are maintained. We are looking for a high-level of technical expertise along with excellent planning, coordination, and communication skills. We require an individual that has experience leading and mentoring development teams along with a keen understanding of the latest software technologies and development practices with an eye for the future state of technology.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Ensure adherence to established enterprise architecture principles, standards, and patternsDesign, develop and deploy dynamically scalable, highly available, and reliable applicationsDevelop applications in an object-oriented environment using application development technologies including web services (Web API, Azure Functions, Azure Service Bus), C#, .Net, HTML, CSS, JavaScript frameworks, jQuery, MVCSupport, maintain and administer deployed solutionsProactively monitoring and preventing technical debt (e.g. software obsolescence; security vulnerabilities)Provide technical leadership to the application development team by providing advice, coaching and educational opportunitiesComplete applications development by coordinating requirements, schedules, and activities; contributing to team meetings; troubleshooting development and production problems across multiple environments and operating platformsAssist in creating guidelines and best practices for website application developmentEnsure software development meets requirements of quality, security, and extensibilityLeverage research to suggest software development trends and patternsFormulate system scope and objectives to create or modify an applicationPlan and design information structure and architectureDefine site objectives by analyzing user requirements, envisioning system features and functionalityResponsible for application performance KPIsPartner with Solution Architects to design solutions that require cross-team collaborationRecommends system solutions by comparing advantages and disadvantages of custom development and purchase alternativesAttend and participate in agile team product development meetingObserve and recommend areas for process improvementEnsure that Definition of Done checklist items are completed for each storyWork with users and staff to resolve business problemsCollaborate with product owners, designers, internal stakeholders, to refine the user experienceSupport users by developing documentation and assistance toolsUpdate job knowledge by researching new internet/intranet technologies and software products; participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizationsEnhance organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments

Minimum Qualifications:

10+ years experience in web application design and development working with Visual Studio, C#, MVC, and ASP.NETMinimum of 2 year experience as an Application ArchitectAzure Cloud services including Functions, Storage, Data Factory, and App ServiceCaching provider experience ie. RedisMust have strong back-end development skills and knowledge of industry integration architecture patterns (e.g. API, Pub/Sub).Significant experience with C# in a MVC environmentMust be able to clearly illustrate application designs to team members.Must have experience building cross browser applications in an object-oriented environment using application development technologies including web services, JavaScript, DHTML, XML, Rest and CSSRelational Databases developing against SQL Server.Ability to work in a deadline-driven, demanding environmentAbility to work as part of a highly cohesive and collaborative teamAbility to manage multiple priorities at one timeStrong written and verbal communication skills
