Your role and responsibilities

This is a Senior Technical Leadership role in Cloud and AI platform, reporting to the Vice President in ABB Ability™ Genix - industrial analytics and artificial intelligence Platform in business area Process Automation located in Bangalore. You will be leading the Product delivery team including Plat-form Services at Ability Innovation Center (AIC), home to the largest technology and engineering pool in ABB globally and is a part of ABB Global Industries and Services Private Limited, a subsidiary of ABB. It is based in Bangalore, the silicon-valley of India. Its unique infrastructure places re-search, development, engineering, and service teams under one roof, increasing collaboration and reducing time to market, with no compromise on quality.The work model for the role is : #LI-OnsiteThis role is contributing to Process Automation business for Process Automation Digital division based in Bangalore, IndiaYour responsibilities:Modern Automation of CI-CD Pipeline•\tDesign and architect CI/CD pipelines for automated build, test, and deployment processes.•\tImplement automation and orchestration to streamline environment provisioning and configuration.•\tIncorporate security scanning, vulnerability assessments, and compliance checks into the CI/CD process.•\tDefine & Design deployment strategies to minimize downtime and risks during software updates.•\tCreate documentation, provide training, and facilitate knowledge transfer on CI/CD best practices and procedures.GitOps Implementation:•\tDefine and establish GitOps practices and workflows for managing infrastructure and application deployments.•\tSet up Git repositories for infrastructure as code (IaC) and Kubernetes manifests.•\tImplement GitOps tooling (e.g., ArgoCD, Flux) for automated synchronization of Git repositories with environments.•\tEnsure changes to infrastructure and application configurations are managed via Git pull requests.Service Management and Developer Portal :•\tIntegrate tools (such as Backstage.io) as a developer portal and central hub for managing services and resources.•\tCustomize the tooling to provide a catalog of services, components, and APIs, Implement access control and authentication mechanisms to secure resources.•\tIntegrate Developer Portal with CI/CD pipelines for service registration and documentation generation.Workflow Automation:•\tDevelop automation scripts and workflows that leverage GitOps and Developer portals to streamline infrastructure and deployment processes.Monitoring and Reporting:•\tImplement monitoring and reporting features in developer portal to provide in-sights into service and deployment status.Education and Adoption:•\tEducate teams on GitOps, Developer Portal, and CI/CD principles and encourage their adoption.

Qualifications for the role

\tBachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related tech-nical field.\tProven experience (15+ years) in a technical leadership, working with software en-gineering teams.\tExpertise in designing and architecting CI/CD pipelines for automated build, test, and deployment processes.\tExperience with Git repository management and Git branching strategies.\tProficiency in automation and orchestration tools (e.g., Jenkins, Ansible, Terraform).\tKnowledge of security best practices, including security scanning and compliance checks.\tStrong expertise in developing automation scripts and workflows that streamline infrastructure and deployment processes.\tExperience with deployment strategies such as blue-green deployments and canary releases.\tExposure to work with deployment experts in defining and establishing GitOps practices and workflows
