The Senior Consultant, Corporate Services – Multi-Vendor Licensing is responsible for applying their understanding of business contracts, software license and IT asset management practices to effectively deliver software license management services to the organization, optimizing the license usage and avoid potentially significant penalties to CGI.
The selected partner will provide expert advice relating to multi-vendor licensing models, manage the software lifecycle, cost reporting, and optimization. In addition, the Senior Consultant will ensure software license and contract compliance via extensive data analysis within and outside CGI s ITAM system. This includes contributing to audit requests, when required, and consolidating audit data.
In collaboration with internal business partners, the Senior Consultant, ITAM and Compliance – Multi-Vendor Licensing oversees software licenses entitlements, ensuring that CGI has the most efficient licensing model and the correct number of licenses to support its business operations.
The Software Asset Management Senior Consultant will:
• Serve as a Subject Matter Expert, having expertise in muti-vendor software licensing rules, software compliance, software maintenance agreements and vendor licensing practices for various software products.
• Vendors include IBM, Redhat, Quest, Adobe, Docker, Vmware by Broadcom, Oracle and Microsoft
• Monitor and enforce proper software usage policies and guidelines;
• Develop strategies and processes to perform required inventories and produce evidence of ownership and license compliance, including reports/templates/checklists and licensing guidelines;
• Hold regular compliance reviews with all relevant stakeholders;
• Drive and implement process definitions, drive operational efficiencies, define key compliance tasks & activities required to ensure operational excellence within the domain
• Collaborate with Software Asset Management Vendor Directors and different ITAM stakeholders including but not limited to the Enterprise Security and the Finance Asset Management teams.
• Advise key stakeholders on license management methods, processes, best practices, technologies and tools;
• Conduct effective license positions (ELPs) to identify variances between deployed and licensed software, ensuring deployed software aligns with the licensing models purchased and usage terms and conditions. Provide guidance in rectifying variances;
• Ensure that there is no non-compliance, excessive or unwarranted software usage and work with all levels of CGI management to resolve compliancy issues;
• Evaluate and recommend options to reduce licensing costs;
• Present status reports to management on a regular basis for the contracts and technology domains under his or her responsibilities
• Prime or Assist in vendor compliance audits as required;
• Prime or Assist in vendor onboardings into Flexnet Manager Suite as required;
• Leverage existing ITAM tools, including FNMS, to enable SAM & HAM, and identify opportunities for continuous service improvement
• Bachelor's Degree in related field;
• 5+ years of relevant experience in a similar role;
• Experience working in large, international, complex IT organizations, documenting Software and IT Asset Management processes and policies
• Experience implementing Software and IT Asset Management policies and best practices in global settings, including establishing KPI s and other measures of success
• Proficient in verbal, written and communication skills in English and French;
• Must be solution oriented and able to work autonomously
• Holder of an ITAM certification is an asset
• Experience with MS Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Visio).
• Experience with Flexera FlexNet Manager Suite, Intune, ITSM CMDBs is an asset
• Demonstrated proficiency in IT Operations, software asset management, compliance and customer/vendor relationships;
• Experience with Software Audits and Compliance Reporting
Superior awareness of new SAM principals and best practices for all the stages of the asset lifecycle;
• Understanding of inventory management processes, techniques, reporting and discovery tools, and asset management databases technologies, used for hardware asset management;
• Knowledge of financial concepts and practices as they relate to Software Asset Management;
• Knowledge of project management and task-tracking, process mapping, reporting tools and techniques;
• Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills used to communicate effectively
• Ability to present complex data from multiple sources into a convincing business case, taking into consideration the needs and priorities of stakeholders;
