Software Asset Management Analyst

The Software Asset Management works closely with contracts, procurement, applications and infrastructure teams to maintain the day-to-day software licensing records and databases responsible for containing information pertaining to the organization’s software assets. 

You will be responsible for handling multiple license subscription types, managing requests for software, agreement renewals, supporting compliance audits and working with teams to maintain an effective software asset management program.

What Else You Get To Do

Responsible for Software Asset Management license maintenance activities, including:  Creating new software licenses in accordance with Software Asset Management tool requirements Processing software licensing purchases, removals, and changes  Monitoring and identifying licensing compliance risks Analyze software usage reporting and licensing data to identify opportunities for cost savings  Manage software renewals ensuring agreement renewal terms are followed Coordinating software usage and license reclamation activities  Develop and implement policies and procedures for software asset management. Educate employees on these policies to ensure adherence Manages client requests for new software, or licensing information requests Maintain strong relationships with software vendors and work with Vendor Management and Contracts to manage software agreement challenges Maintain knowledge of key Vendor licensing models, stay informed about licensing changes and updates Assist in software compliance audit activities, working with various teams to address findings. Maintain Software Asset Management tool information, including ensuring software models are linked to the appropriate software contracts  Answer software license related questions pertaining to number of installs, purchases and provide licensing knowledge and advisory services to stakeholders to maximize the value of Software Asset Management Work closely with various teams to ensure appropriate software licenses are available prior to deployment Creating and supporting purchase requisitions, and providing cost data to support downstream vendor invoice processing

Who You Are: 

Bachelor’s degree in business, IT, related field or equivalent experience 5 to 7 years of relevant experience working in a multi-national, matrix organization; ideally with software asset management/procurement/contract management experience Experience with vendor licensing model calculations including Oracle, Salesforce, VMware, Microsoft and other ‘Tier 1’ vendor license models Proficiency with Software Asset Management and Procurement tools, such as: Service Now, Microsoft SCCM, Oracle Purchasing Demonstrated knowledge of the fundamental concepts and procedures used in a purchasing and asset management environment In-depth understanding of software licensing agreements, compliance requirements, and asset management best practices Working knowledge of reconciling software licensing and software maintenance terms and conditions between procured rights and quantities with compliant deployment of software assets Strong problem-solving skills with excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to present complex information to non-technical stakeholders
