**Responsibilities**
As a member of the Service Asset and Configuration Management team, the **Software Asset Management Process and Technology Manager** plays a critical role in effective management of a large enterprise software estate. The primary responsibilities of this role will be to mature the daily and long-term strategic management of software assets within the organization, assist in guiding the organization in developing a Software Asset Management structure and strategy, develop policies and procedures, and planning around Ascension’s Asset Management tools.
**SAM Process and Technology Manager Roles and Responsibilities**
+ Establish and maintain the Software Asset Management Strategy and Roadmap based on business, service and operational customers needs and strategies
+ Provide direction for the work of multiple analysts and mentor the organization on software asset management services, concepts, policies and procedures, compliance and resolution/escalation of issues.
+ Build and mature software license positions in Flexera/FlexNet Manager
+ Leverage experience in Flexera to drive additional program maturity and mentor team members in best practices
+ Assist in maintaining Flexera system health and identification of expanded use cases
+ Improve organizational productivity and maximize return on investment by minimizing software costs
+ Develop, implement and refine Software Asset Management processes and procedures
+ Ensure compliance with software license agreements
+ Apply understanding and experience with perpetual and subscription license models, SaaS, user licensing, device licensing, network licensing, metered/consumption-based licensing
+ Assist legal and vendor management partners with defense of audits and inquiries from third parties
+ Participate in software-related sourcing events and renewals, as needed
+ Support exception process for non-standard software requests
+ Drive enterprise risk reduction through collaboration with product owners by finding opportunities for software updates, reclamation or removal
+ Develop and introduce standards list to support Software Asset Management standards and governance
+ Assist with the development and implementation of reporting to optimize internal efficiencies and support dedicated asset management
+ Identify opportunities to streamline and improve processes through automation
+ Drive management of usage monitoring and related support processes
**Requirements**
Licensure / Certification / Registration:
+ Certification credentialed from the International Association of Information Technology Asset Managers preferred.
Education:
+ High School diploma equivalency with 3 years of cumulative experience OR Associate'sdegree/Bachelor's degree with 2 years of cumulative experience OR 7 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
+ 3 years of leadership or management experience preferred.
**Additional Preferences**
+ Minimum 5+ years experience in a Software Asset Management or related role in a corporate environment
+ Bachelor’s degree or equivalent related professional experience
+ Possess a deep understanding of Asset Management standard methodologies, including heavy software license management focus.
+ Familiar with, or industry knowledge of Flexera **:** Flexera One, Flexnet Manager, ServiceNow SAM Pro
+ ITIL V3 Foundation, ITIL Service Transition, and Asset Management tool knowledge
+ Good interpersonal/ human relation skills
+ Strong written and verbal communication skills
+ Ability to work in a rapidly changing environment
+ Ability to work independently, as part of a software asset management team and collaboratively with other internal and external teams to accomplish goals
+ Experience with data analytics and reporting, such as Tableau, a plus
+ Experience navigating license agreements with large vendors such as Microsoft, Oracle, a plus
+ Experience creating reports and generating metrics on various IT software asset management activities and the terms and conditions of software license agreements
