Software Asset Management Senior Analyst

Objective:
This service is responsible for managing software licenses, ensuring compliance, optimizing costs, and supporting procurement processes. The ideal resource(s) will have experience in IT asset management, software renewals, customer communication and vendor co-ordination.
Scope of Services:
Software Asset Management & Licensing Review and process New Software Requests (NSR), including approval checks, duplication verification, and procurement requests. Validate software licensing requirements and confirm user needs before procurement. Perform SSRS validation and other necessary checks for software approvals. Track, manage, and optimize software licenses for efficiency and cost control. Conduct periodic software renewals, ensuring timely processing to avoid service disruptions. Procurement & Vendor Coordination Obtain and validate quotes for new software acquisitions. Work with procurement teams to submit purchase requests and validate costs. Liaise with vendors for license renewal quotes. User Access Management & Compliance Monitor and manage user software access, ensuring compliance with licensing agreements. Remove or downgrade licenses for inactive users based on bot-generated reports. Handle unlisted software requests by assessing needs and passing them to the Service Desk. Maintain a shared mailbox for tracking software version updates and relevant communications. General IT Support & Process Improvement Assist with general software license related inquiries from end-users and IT teams. Improve internal processes for software asset tracking, license management, and automation. Ensure adherence to IT policies and industry best practices for software asset management. Required Skills & Qualifications: Experience: 2+ years in IT asset management, software licensing, or procurement. Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with SaaS, on-premises, and hybrid software licensing. Tools & Platforms: Experience with asset management tools, ITSM systems (e.g., ServiceNow, Jira), and procurement software. Analytical Skills: Ability to analyse software usage data and optimize licensing costs. Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills for vendor coordination and user support. Attention to Detail: Accuracy in managing software assets, invoices, and compliance requirements. Preferred Qualifications: ITIL or ISO 19770 certification in Software Asset Management. Knowledge of software asset management tools and associated automation.
