Planning, acquisition, deployment, monitoring, harvesting and retirement of software assets. Develop SAM policies, workflows, processes, and procedures. Responsible for creating and updating software information into Asset Manager/SAM. Involved in the calculating of software license compliance based on software license right-to-use (RTU), software license agreements, maintenance agreements and software installations. Central point to process and track all software license purchases, mainly Microsoft Software Licenses and managing Software Assurance Benefits.
Detailed responsibilities include:• Lead the development, implementation and management of District wide Asset Management tools.• MUST have experience in managing Microsoft Enterprise Contracts and Microsoft Volume License Management portal • MUST have experience in managing Microsoft Desktop and Server Licenses.• MUST have experience in managing Microsoft Software Assurance Benefits. • Deploy an enterprise wide ITAM / Software Asset Management platform (e.g. Microsoft SCCM) • Validates requirements to create and modify IT software asset records and associated contract records.• Manually create or modify IT software asset records and associated contract records in appropriate software repository.• Bulk load and update IT software license asset records, software license contracts and software maintenance agreements and associated relationships into the IT asset repository.• Initiate requests to update master data registries (e.g. product brands and models) to enable creation or modification of IT asset record.• Support OCTO’s ITAM implementation activities.• Ensure all changes to vendor agreements are accurately reflected in SAM as confirmed with License Contract holders.• Create and update software counters for software titles and licenses.• Research, upgrade and downgrade parameters that impact client Right to Use (RTU) when creating or modifying software title counters.• Provide expertise in ensuring that software license contracts and agreements, software licenses and software installations and associated linkages are reflected correctly in the ITAM / Software Asset Management platform repository.• Provide expertise to ensure that software license records are linked to the correct hardware device.• Support analysis of new or modified software agreement and maintenance contracts and identifies impact to software counters.• Provides monthly and quarterly software license compliance status reports to OCTO management and Agency CIO’s. Also process all the software related requests (new requests, changes, upgrades, etc.) from all the DC agencies.• Review software compliance measures based on existing licensing agreements.• Understand current utilization and installation of licenses based on RTU focus.• Work with Software vendors to renew and true up existing licensing contracts.• Provide analysis of Software Asset Data information for compliance and risk purposes as well as trends, contracts, and cost.
