SAM - Staff - Microsoft licensing     
Summary  
Working in a team environment, the Staff SAM is responsible for managing customer’s licenses. The Consultant will assist customers in understanding and controlling their software licensing entitlement, avoiding legal pitfalls related to licensing by leveraging industry best practices while expanding host company licensing opportunities and building more-profitable, long-term relationships with our customers. 

 

Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities for the Role  

Analyse the contracts and entitlements data, MLS, CPS  Compliance report/license position report creation for the end customer  Implementation of different virtualization technologies while analysing the deployment data e.g. Hyper V, VMware, Xen (Citrix)  Implementing of SAM maturity assessment as per customers infrastructure  Working knowledge of Microsoft's license models  Operations knowledge of SAM Platforms such as Flexera, SAMPro, Snow  Experience with Software Asset Management (SAM) auditing or consulting  Microsoft Licensing & Microsoft cloud benchmarking, optimization  Microsoft License & vendor Management  Thorough understanding on O365 Analysis  SAM tool/Inventory completeness check  Fair understanding on User Profiling  Subject matter expert of Microsoft with the ability to implement the complex licensing scenarios and produce the license position report for Microsoft.  Should be able to face customer queries.  Creating customized reports and comparison for cost savings  Creating Compliance Reports for the customers  Creation of reports/documentation as per engagement requirements  Active management & allocation of tasks & task type to ensure balanced workload distribution across the project team  Solid grasp of Microsoft licensing principles in both on-premises and cloud environment
 

Skills Required:  

2+ years professional experience in licensing industry with successful ITAM/SAM Management/ software licensing experience across publishers is a must. Familiarity of different publisher licensing models.  Understanding of licensing scenarios, benefits, optimization opportunities, conceptual knowledge on use rights of BYOL concept. SAM Accreditation (good to have).  Advanced Excel and data analytics skills. Previous exposure to asset management software; preferably with specific experience in ServiceNow and SAM.
