Description
JOB SUMMARY: Monitors and verifies the flow of information from various external sources to the final data repository. Fields data-related questions and issues. Collates, investigates and answers or resolves questions. Coordinates Ad Hoc and standard reports using the Ellucian Banner Oracle database. Designs, develops and maintains LECOM internal pages and application. Implements and maintains LECOM web-based React, C#, and Java applications used by the faculty, staff and students.
CHARACTERISTIC JOB TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
+ Promotes and preserves the mission of LECOM;
+ Maintain confidentiality, professional appearance and pleasant demeanor;
+ Reviews data input, updates and usage for existing and new database tables;
+ Maintain a log of issues encountered and their resolution;
+ Develops and maintains relevant reporting and reconciliation processes used to monitor key data processes;
+ Utilizes SQL queries, custom applications, reporting tools, constraints, and other applications, as necessary, to continuously ensure data integrity;
+ Update, maintain and revise LECOM portal pages;
+ Maintain integrity and security on LECOM portal applications;
+ Develops and deploys new portal applications;
+ Creating new programs or scripts capable of reading and validating data from a variety of sources and formats for importing to a database;
+ Creating new applications that act as self-serving interactive interfaces for applicants, students, faculty, staff, and other parties for a multitude of tasks involving data handling, validation, and reporting;
+ Maintain applications, including the conversion of applications built on older technologies to new ones and troubleshooting of problems via analytical and problem solving skills;
+ Maintain, Monitor and Develop API clients in multiple environments;
+ Training interns or other department members on internal practices and standards, principles of programming, and new applications or technologies;
+ Write requirements and design documents for all new applications ;
+ Contribute and be responsible for overall student success;
+ Contribute directly to the Mission of LECOM embodying the essence of Osteopathic Principles and Practices by assisting with Institutional fundraising and participating in the LECOM Scholarship Auction;
+ Participate in scholarly activity so to enrich and broaden the student learning experience;
+ Commit to being a representative of LECOM by being actively involved in the community, including, but not limited to, serving on Boards, participating in community fundraisers and overall outreach; and
+ Other duties as required / needed to maintain an efficient and effective Department.

Minimum Requirements
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS : Must possess required knowledge and be able to explain and demonstrate, with or without reasonable accommodations, that the essential functions of the job can be performed:
+ Must have excellent writing, organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills;
+ Exceptional analytical and problemsolving skills with a strong attention to detail;
+ Ability to navigate, configure, and utilize RHEL servers;
+ Ability to follow oral and written instructions;
+ Must have the ability to maintain existing applications written in at least two of the following languages: C#, React, Java, Rust, and Python;
+ Must possess the ability to work with API multiple API types including but not limited to SOAP, REST, and GraphQL
+ Ability to gather business requirements from faculty, staff, and other parties for the conversion of manual processes to automated processes
+ Ability to troubleshoot through the usage of self-created test cases, along with train and troubleshoot custom applications for faculty and staff
+ Good understanding of computer science fundamentals including algorithms and data structures, object-oriented principles, and relational databases
+ Knowledge of the .NET Core and Razor pages client-server architecture
+ Must have the ability to program and query relational databases in at least two of the following RDBMS: MSSQL, Oracle, MySQL, Postgres, and NoSQL
+ Must have the ability to work across multiple IDEs, including but not limited to: SSMS, Visual Studio, SQL Developer, Postman, Insomnia, etc.
+ Willingness to learn and adapt to changes in technologies, including new application programming interfaces, languages, and other such systems
+ Strong communications skills are essential, as well as computer literacy for the MS Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel…etc.), as well as accurate data entry skills;
+ Excellent organizational skills;
+ Maintaining an established work schedule;
+ Effectively using interpersonal and communications skills including tact and diplomacy;
+ Effectively using organizational and planning skills, including, but not limited to, attention to detail and follow-through;
+ Assessing and prioritizing multiple tasks, projects, and demands;

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS : Education and experience equivalent to a Minimum Associates Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems and/or another related field with two to four (2-4) years’ of workplace experience. Experience interacting with development teams is a plus.
