Project Kuiper is an initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites that will provide low-latency, high-speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world.

In this role, you will design, craft, and deploy reliable embedded software for large quantity of Kuiper terrestrial products. Kuiper is breaking new ground with every device we design, and you will be an integral part of bringing this family of products to deployments.

Export Control Requirement:
Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Key job responsibilities
- Develop embedded software for terrestrial devices within the Project Kuiper system.
- Participate in all phases of SDLC including requirements gathering, design, code, test, and code/test coverage.
- Collaborate with engineers across the org to gather requirements, design, develop, deploy, and operate across solution pipelines.
- Participate in initiatives building and scaling the ground gateway products and help implement best practices for software development.
- Develop code, build CI/CD pipelines, test automation, and dashboards for monitoring health of systems and data pipelines.
- Engineer and build solutions which are required for managing the ground gateway stations.
- Develope embedded software in assembly, C, C++, Rust or other languages on Linux or RTOS

An SDE in Kuiper Ground Gateway Services is responsible for designing, developing, testing, deploying, and operating services that enable ground systems worldwide. We write code, debug, and create the world’s most innovative products. We work in collaboration with other teams for designing and delivering scalable, low latency, and high throughput solutions.
