Job Title: Software Dev Engineer II

Job Description

Our client is looking for a Software Development Engineer to help accelerate the deprecation of the legacy page rendering framework. The successful candidate will work as part of a team to replace legacy applications and improve the security and functionality of key services.

ResponsibilitiesImplement designs and solutions for replacing applications.Work on the deprecation of foundational libraries used company-wide.Provide dedicated release engineering support for monthly releases.Implement key features and security improvements for the Shopping Egress service, replacing several legacy applications.Address urgent security issues flagged by the security team.Collaborate with team members on various focus areas.Essential SkillsStrong understanding of Java and C++.Experience with Perl, Mason, and CGI.A Computer Science or equivalent technical degree.2-5 years of relevant experience in software development.Superior verbal and written communication skills.Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.Ability to work independently and maintain professionalism under pressure.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with large complex systems.Exposure to a variety of software applications.Work Environment

The team is a platform team, developing software used by many retail teams. The work involves biweekly sprint planning, daily stand-ups at 10:00 am, and project-related stand-ups. Engineers participate in a weekly on-call rotation, providing support for customer issues. The team relies heavily on Slack for immediate issue resolutions. There are monthly team lunches and extensive internal documentation available for troubleshooting. The role is independent, with minimal hand-holding required.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $45.00
