Fortinet is looking for a Junior or Intermediate Software Dev QA Engineer to join our R&D team in Ottawa. If you are a driven and motivated self-starter that wants to contribute directly to the success of your team, this is a position for you.
As a Software Dev QA Engineer, you will:
Execute regression testing on Fortinet products using a combination of manual and auto testing techniques. Create, maintain, and execute test specifications and test cases Write scripts to automate the testing cases Analyze and categorize URIs and email samples Identify, document, and track software defects found during testing Work closely with developers to ensure defects are correctly identified and fixed
We Are Looking For:
3+ years working experience in QA testing or IT support Strong experience in programming languages, such as C, C++, Java, and shell scripts, etc. Solid understanding of TCP/IP, routing and switching Strong experience in Unix/Linux and Windows operating systems Knowledge of OpenSSL, Apache, Iptables, MySQL, Tcpdump and Wireshark Good knowledge of security, i.e. firewall, encryption, PKI, x509 certificates Experience with Sendmail, Exchange server and Microsoft Active Directory service is desirable Demonstrated ability to logically and analytically troubleshoot software Demonstrated ability to write clear and reproducible problem reports, and test results Knowledge of general QA procedures, methodologies and software development fundamentals Experience with configuring, installing, and troubleshooting PC/server software and hardware in a Windows or Linux environment Ability to work in a collaborative environment and communicate well with other departments Ability to work on assigned tasks under tight time constraints
