Job DescriptionGDIT has an opportunity for a Software Developer to support the modernization and sustainment of a large portfolio of enterprise business solutions used by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA). The position supports a new program, the NASA Consolidated Applications and Platform Services (NCAPS) which consolidates enterprise-wide applications and platform services across the Agency and supports the Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO) Application Division transformation into the Application and Platform Service (APS) Line with agile based service delivery and IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) based service management practices.
The Software Developer will support Armstrong Flight Research Center (AFRC) with development and operations and maintenance (O&M) support for the systems and services that fall under centralized information technology (IT) services which are managed by the Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO).
Responsibilities:
Mid-level software development support. Applies advanced knowledge of concepts, processes, practices, and procedures on technical assignments. Designs, develops, enhances, debugs, and implements software. Troubleshoots production problems related to software applications. Researches, tests, builds, and coordinates the conversion and/or integration of new products based on client requirements. Designs and develops new software products or major enhancements to existing software. Addresses problems of systems integration, compatibility, and multiple platforms. Consults with project teams and end users to identify application requirements. Performs feasibility analysis on potential future projects to management. Assists in the evaluation and recommendation of application software packages, application integration and testing tools. Resolves problems with software and responds to suggestions for improvements and enhancements. Instructs, assigns, directs, and checks the work of other software developers on development team.Participates in development of software user manuals.Qualifications:
Required:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Management Systems, or a related discipline.Four (4) plus years related technical experience with Microsoft Project, XML, HTML, JavaScript, Oracle, ColdFusion, ASP.net, Jira, and/or SharePoint. Public Trust clearance, and ability to obtain higher level, if needed.Experience in preparation of standard operating procedures.Strong organizational skills.Desired:
