Job Title: Software Developer

Job Description

You will be responsible for designing and developing advanced hardware and software solutions for one of the world's top life sciences companies. The incumbent will work closely with our software applications and research associates, as well as with other functions, to design and develop Mass Spectrometer software products and capabilities. This position reports to the Software Development Manager and Chief Software Architect, and is part of the Software Department located in Concord, Ontario, Canada. This is an on-site role.

ResponsibilitiesAnalyze problems to deliver creative, logical, and effective solutions using good design principles that satisfy functional and non-functional requirements.Design and develop critical platform infrastructure components using advanced concepts like threading/async programming.Develop high complexity modules/subsystems for controlling analytical instruments and data mining with intelligent algorithms.Evaluate and recommend new software development technologies, tools, and practices.Mentor a sr team members and peer review product artifacts, including requirement specifications, design specifications, and code.Essential Skills5+ years of experience with C# .NET (version 8 or 9)Experience designing and developing desktop applications using OOP/OODExperience with PostgreSQL or similar databasesKnowledge of multithreading and design patternsFamiliarity with modeling techniques like UML to document design and architecture of software components.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with Mass Spectrometer and/or other analytical instrument technologiesWork Environment

You will be working for a global leader focused on the research, design, manufacture, and marketing of state-of-the-art solutions for mass spectrometry. These solutions are sold to researchers or scientists around the world at pharmaceutical companies, contract research laboratories, academic and medical institutions, and health and life sciences organizations. The company is committed to accelerating the complex process of discovering and developing new drug compounds, understanding the causes of disease, and protecting the safety of food, water, and the environment. The work environment is dynamic, with over 150 engineers on site, providing a collaborative and innovative atmosphere.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $75.00/hr.
