The Software Developer I is responsible for collaborating closely with our Software Applications and Research associates, and other functions to design and develop Mass Spectrometer software products and capabilities.
This position reports to the Software Development Manager and is part of the Software department located in Concord, Ontario, Canada and will be an on-site role.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
+ Work closely with our Software Applications and Research associates, and other functions to design and develop software products and capabilities, ensure development process and product alignment during project execution.
+ Implement software modules and unit tests and conduct appropriate module testing to detects, reports, investigate, and fix product defects.
+ Follow established practices of agile methodologies to ensure high quality software while being committed to on-time delivery.
+ Work collaboratively and proactively to maximize the success of the research and development teams.
+ Develop medium complexity modules/sub-systems independently on time and with expected quality.
The essential requirements of the job include:
+ 3+ years of experience in designing and developing applications using OOP/OOD, with more than 2 years in C#/.NET.
+ Degree in Computer Science or Engineering
+ Skilled in designing and implementing n-tier systems, reusable libraries, and development frameworks.
+ Strong communication, facilitation, analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, and time-management skills.
+ Proven technical leadership, collaboration skills, and experience working in cross-functional teams.
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
+ Experience with developing instrument control software for Mass Spectrometers or LC’s, working/interfacing with analytical devices, and developing software for life sciences or medical device products.
+ Familiarity with agile methodologies, test-driven development, domain-specific languages, distributed data management, and prior experience working with offshore development teams.
