Responsibilities Major Job Activities: V2X specializes in management and technology support services for a variety of federal agencies and commercial organizations. We have an opportunity for a Software Developer supporting the US Navy and FMS users. You will work with the newest software to integrate DoD trainers, simulators and platforms under the Live, Virtual and Constructive (LVC) construct utilizing state-of-the-art technology Key Responsbilities: Collaborating with team members to understand project requirements, user needs, and system architectures, and participating in solution design discussions. Implementing software components and features according to technical specifications and project timelines, utilizing modern programming languages, frameworks, and technologies. Participating in code reviews, providing feedback, and incorporating best practices to ensure code quality, maintainability, and performance. Following cybersecurity guidelines and best practices to ensure the security and integrity of software systems, including implementing encryption, access controls, and secure communications. Supporting testing, verification, and validation activities, including unit testing, integration testing, and user acceptance testing, to ensure the reliability and effectiveness of deployed solutions. Assisting with documentation tasks, including documenting software designs, development processes, and technical specifications, for upload to project repositories and documentation platforms. Collaborating with team members and stakeholders to troubleshoot issues, address technical challenges, and ensure the successful deployment and maintenance of software systems. Qualifications Education: A Bachelor of Science in electrical or computer engineering, or an equivalent degree from an ABET-accredited institution is required. Coursework specializing in computer hardware and software is desired. Experience: At least 5 years of practical experience in software systems engineering, specifically in modeling and simulation within the training and training systems domains. At least 5 years of experience with software engineering functions such as requirement analysis and definition, configuration management, quality assurance, unit and system-level testing, reliability and maintainability, cost estimating, risk analysis/assessment, and human factors is required. At least 5 years of experience with current and emerging software development methodologies, processes, and life-cycle models (e.g., CMM, CMMI, IEEE-12207, Waterfall, and Spiral). At least 5 years of experience with current and developing military equipment and systems. At least 5 years of experience with a wide range of non-engineering, non-scientific information, including Federal Acquisition Regulations, Military Standards, DoD/DON/NA VAIR policies, directives, and instructions, with an understanding of their applicability to assignments. A minimum of six years’ experience with software development in the following technologies: C#, XAML, Java, HTML, CSS, C, C++, 3D Graphics, .NET, and WINforms. Other Requirements: This position requires U.S. citizenship and a Secret Clearance. Desired Qualifications: Experience in coursework specializing in computer hardware and software, such as software design and engineering, system architecture, data structures, networks, operating systems, digital design, and real-time systems. Experience utilizing software tools for engineering is also desired. Skills & Technology Used: Analytical Thinking & Problem Solving: The candidate must possess both analytical and interpersonal skills, as well as strong problem-solving, negotiation, and organizational techniques. Business Partner/Effective Communicator: The candidate should have strong English language skills for communicating and negotiating with vendors. They must be able to communicate clearly in both writing and orally, and possess the ability to train, lead projects, and direct employees. A customer service-oriented, detail-focused, and proactive approach, as well as the ability to multi-task, is essential. Software: The candidate must be proficient with Microsoft Office products, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
