Software Development Engineer, AFT Workforce Optimization
Amazon.com
Have you ever wondered how Amazon operates its workforce to power the largest and most advanced fulfillment operation in the world? Operating a workforce at Amazon’s scale demands intelligent systems to ensure that we can innovate and optimize with increasing efficiency as our fulfillment network grows.
As our Fulfillment Center Network expands at a rapid pace, the need to effectively manage information about our Associates is crucial as the workforce expands. We are building a platform that integrates with our robotics technologies to deliver reliable Associate information - which in turn drives Authentication and Authorization systems globally.
At Amazon, you are empowered to own your success and the success of the team. We operate like a small business within the larger Amazon ecosystem. Our team is able to focus on adding value for our customers without the headaches of infrastructure, external testing teams or other overhead. We have full ownership of our delivery pipeline so the team can ship to production in hours, not weeks or months.
Would you like to use your software engineering background to build disruptive solutions to benefit Amazon's world-class operations workforce? If you have exceptional technical expertise and experience creating reliable, scalable, and high-performance services and architectures to solve complex business problems, we want to talk to you.
Key job responsibilities
- As a Software Development Engineer II, you are responsible for developing the architecture as well as implementation of solutions to challenging problems. You are able to work independently to deliver end-to-end solutions with high code quality, in a reliable and scalable manner.
- You take an active role in coaching junior engineers and help them reach the next level. You participate in the interviewing process for other engineers across Amazon.
- You bring experience to the table from previous roles and actively help improve our Software Development Process. You actively contribute to team discussions and set the standard for how we build products that people love.
- Software is never completed, only released. You take ownership of the maintenance and the continued success of the products we have shipped by improving existing features and bug-fixing where necessary. You play an active role in communicating with our customers and incorporating their feedback.
