Middle-Midle Transportation Technology team builds the underlying technology that powers Amazon’s middle-mile network across the globe. The Planning and Network team owns systems that take demand for middle-mile freight movements for Amazon and produces a plan that meets demand and supply constraints while minimizing costs, improve truck utilization by consolidating freight and creating multi-stop plans. This is a unique opportunity to work on NP Hard problems/Algorithms that saves Amazon MM of $ in freight movements.

Key job responsibilities
* Design transportation solutions that scale for not just Grocery but for other Amazon business verticals
* Build distributed systems that do not compromise on operator or customer experience
* Insist on highest standards on the software we ship by writing high quality code, active code reviews and actively reduce tech debt
* Mentor junior engineers in designing and building scalable software

A day in the life
* Influence technical strategy and architectural decisions within the team and with partner teams
* Set a high bar for what we ship through active participation in code reviews
* Bring in best practices in operational and engineering excellence by actively contributing to ticket resolution, infrastructure improvements and cost reduction and monitoring/alarming
* Work with product owners to ensure we do not compromise on long term goals for short-term gains
