We are looking for a Software Engineer, who can drive appropriate technology choices, lead the way for continuous innovation, and shape the future of our big data systems. You will build services to help bridge the gap between our data platform and financial users with an intuitive easy to use interface. You will be interacting with data engineers and financial users to understand the key requirements and lead the design and development of software services. This is a great opportunity for anyone to own the architecture and development from its very initial stage.

Key job responsibilities
- Architect, design, develop and deploy new services to support core functions within our data lake architecture
- Write clean, maintainable code and perform peer code-reviews.
- Work with other team members to investigate design approaches, prototype new technology, and evaluate technical feasibility.
- Actively collaborate with data engineers and financial users to shape the user experience
- Work in an agile / scrum environment to deliver high quality software
- Establish architectural principles, select design patterns, and mentor team members on their appropriate application.
- Help define and implement standards and promote best Operational Excellence (OE) practices for the Corp FPA team

A day in the life
- Work with PMT's to understand customer pain points and lead high level design decisions
- Review designs and code to raise the quality bar for the team
- Identify improvement opportunities and contribute to the team's technical strategy

The data flowing through our platform directly contributes to decision-making by our CEO and CFO, Board of Directors, and senior finance leadership across all of Amazon and its subsidiaries (Ring, Audible, Twitch, ShopBob, Digital Video, etc.)
