What You'll Do As a Software Engineer, you will design, code, and optimize different parts (microservices) of our compliance cloud. It will be up to you to convert product vision and requirements into the finished product. At Avalara, you will have the opportunity to work on diverse projects that make tax compliance less taxing and more efficient for businesses around the globe. You could be enhancing our core tax computation engine, building connectors integrate it with e-commerce systems, developing AI models to automate the creation of tax rules or engineering our multi-cloud core SAAS platform. What You'll Need to be Successful Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field. Minimum of 3 years of experience in software design and development. Strong proficiency in object-oriented programming languages such as C#, Java or JavaScript. Good analytical and troubleshooting skills to be able to solve complex problems and critical production issues. Solid understanding and experience with RESTful APIs, JSON, XML, and other data interchange formats. Demonstrable experience with AWS services and managing CI/CD pipelines.
