Description AWS Utility Computing (UC) provides product innovations — from foundational services such as Amazon’s Simple Storage Service (S3) and Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2), to consistently released new product innovations that continue to set AWS’s services and features apart in the industry. As a member of the UC organization, you’ll support the development and management of Compute, Database, Storage, Internet of Things (Iot), Platform, and Productivity Apps services in AWS, including support for customers who require specialized security solutions for their cloud services. As a back-end engineer on this team, you'll be responsible for driving key deliverables across teams building out interactive and responsive user experiences. You will have significant influence on our overall strategy by helping define product features, drive the system architecture and spearhead the best practices that enable a quality product. Above all, you will build an impactful product. Key job responsibilities Work closely with UX designers and product managers to develop friendly UI experiences. Work closely with other engineers to architect and develop the best technical design. Develop/maintain operational rigor for the frontend of a new AWS service. Own and deliver key features within a new interactive ML application Collaborate with other AWS SDEs for features that cut across AWS. Engage with customers and other AWS partners. Basic Qualifications - 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience - 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience - Experience programming with at least one software programming language Preferred Qualifications - 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience - Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
