We are looking for a Software Engineer to join our growing technology team. This is an exciting opportunity to become a member of the 8x8 engineering team that is involved in the entire life cycle of development, from the browser to the database.
You will be part of the team that owns high performance, mission critical services, from design to development, deployment and operation at scale.
Get the chance to work in a microservices architecture, add new features, solve day-to-day problems and contribute to system wide technical improvements. All this in an agile run project that is continuously deployed in Kubernetes clusters hosted in AWS.

Responsibilities

Design and implement technical solutions that satisfy Product requirementsSatisfy NFR-s, with special emphasis on Security and ObservabilityEngage in the Continuous Improvement processInteractions with other Teams and StakeholdersBuild services with quality and high availability in mindContribute in all phases of the development lifecycleWrite well designed, testable, efficient codeEnsure designs are in compliance with specificationsPrepare and produce releases of software componentsSupport Continuous Improvement by investigating alternatives and new technologies and presenting these for architectural review

Qualifications

Strong technical skills across Java, SQL, Spring web and database technologiesExcellent development experience with Java REST web servicesExcellent knowledge of Relational Databases, SQL, and ORM technologies (JPA2, Hibernate)Expertise in LinuxSpring ecosystem know-howProficiency in Database technologies (SQL and NoSQL)Good knowledge of Distributed SystemsGood knowledge of NFR-s analysis and implementationDeliver beautiful and well tested codeExposure to AWS (or other Public Cloud)Very good understanding of design patterns and microservicesExperience with test automation at the unit and integration levels.Self Starter and ambitiousCollaborativePassionate about delivering high-quality softwareExcited about learning and improvingExperience working in a global environment, across multiple time zones and geographies
