Software Development Engineer in Test (100% remote within Spain)

What are we looking for?

We are looking for a Software Development Engineer in Test working close to one of our main clients in banking sector.

 

Main tasks and accountabilities will be:

Test Automation Leadership: Design, develop, and maintain advanced automation frameworks for functional, regression, performance, and scalability testing across multiple platforms.  Strategic Test Planning: Lead the creation and execution of comprehensive test strategies and plans, ensuring full coverage of features and functionality. Quality Advocacy: Act as a quality advocate within the engineering team, promoting best practices in test automation, continuous integration, and deployment. Collaboration: Work closely with software developers to influence design and architecture with testability in mind, ensuring high standards of code quality. Performance and Scalability Testing: Design and execute complex performance, load, and scalability tests, identifying bottlenecks and working with the development team to optimize performance. Mentorship: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior SDETs and quality engineers, helping them to grow their skills in test automation and quality assurance. Continuous Improvement: Continuously improve existing testing processes, tools, and frameworks, incorporating the latest industry trends and technologies. Defect Management: Oversee the identification, documentation, and tracking of defects, working closely with development teams to ensure timely resolution. Innovation: Innovate within and across teams and provide technical leadership, brining external market perspective.

What UST expects from you?

8+ years of experience in software development and test automation, with a focus on designing and implementing robust automation frameworks. Proficiency in one or more programming languages (Java is a MUST) and experience with test automation tools like Cucumber, JUnit, TestNG, etc. CI/CD Knowledge: Strong understanding of continuous integration and continuous deployment pipelines, with hands-on experience in tools like Jenkins or GitLab CI. Performance Testing: Expertise in performance, load, and scalability testing, with a solid understanding of tools like JMeter or Gatling. Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead testing efforts, mentor junior engineers, and drive the adoption of best practices in test automation. Collaboration: Strong communication and collaboration skills, with a track record of working effectively in cross-functional teams. SDLC: Deep understanding of all stages in the Software Development Life Cycle Design Patterns: Deep understanding of design patterns and principles Architectural Patterns: Experience with distributed architectures like SOA, MSA or EDA Cloud: Relevant experience with Cloud Computing (AWS is a plus) Agile: Experience working in an Agile fashion (e.g. Scrum, SAFe) Good english level (B2-C1) you will be working with international teams.

Desired Skills

Regulated Environment: Experience working in a highly regulated environment, like banking. Education & Certifications: Degree in Computer Science and AWS certificate Serverless: Experience with AWS serverless technologies (AWS Lambda, AWS Fargate)

Valuable and desirable: being entitled of Disability Certificate (at least 33% score).

 

Work Location

100% remote within Spain. 

 

Work schedule

Business Hours. No intensive working days for friday or summer.
