Job Title: Software Development Engineer - Firmware Test
Job Location: Sunnyvale, CA
Our Department: Trimble Field Systems
About the Role
Satellite navigation has evolved from GPS to what is now called GNSS - the Global Navigation Satellite System, made up of GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, Beidou, QZSS, NavIC and other emerging systems. Trimble is the leader in GNSS receivers. The Sunnyvale GNSS and Comms Engineering group develops Trimble’s world class, high precision GNSS receivers for a wide range of markets, from Geospatial / Survey, to rugged Construction products used on bulldozers, to modules sold to integrators.
This equipment includes not only high precision GNSS with sub-centimeter accuracy, but also integrated communication devices including UHF radios, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, USB ports, and Ethernet connectivity to support the transfer of positioning information and satellite corrections.
Critical to these products is embedded firmware. All of these systems must be tested to ensure that new product design specifications are met and quality products are shipped to our customers.
The GNSS Firmware QA team works closely with the embedded firmware development team to ensure that the functionality meets customer and market expectations. Your role will be to contribute to the Sunnyvale GNSS Firmware QA team by qualifying firmware functionality and releases for both existing products as well as our next generation GNSS receivers.
