Software Development Engineering, Advisor I

What does a successful Software Development Engineering, Advisor I do at Fiserv?

You will work closely with the existing team, including scrum masters and business analysts, to leverage your expertise in project architecture, design, and system implementations. As a key influencer, you will help define the technical direction for the team, utilizing current tools to achieve the same business functionality within a more modern architecture. Additionally, you will consult with the project team and functional units on the design of important projects or services.

What you will do:

Design applications and oversee the analysis, development, and coordination of enterprise business solutionsCreate high-performance microservices while establishing rigorous code quality standardsDevelop and deploy services across various environments, including the in-house Cloud Foundry platform and cloud provider architectures such as AWS and AzureUtilize modern tools to analyze performance issues and ensure high code quality in collaboration with test engineersImplement code changes and conduct root-cause analysis to address issuesProvide support for existing business system applications, showcasing expertise and leadership within agile methodologies

What you will need to have:

8+ years of experience in the full software development life cycle using Agile methodologies8+ years of hands-on coding experience developing enterprise applications using the Spring framework and Core Java5+ years of experience in software design and software architecture5+ years of experience building and supporting RESTful web services and microservices using Spring Boot5+ years of experience with back-end databases including PostgreSQL and Oracle or SQL5+ years of experience with Eclipse or IntelliJ and Unix scripting languages3+ years of experience with AWS technologiesBachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, work, or military experience

What would be great to have:

Experience in Java 17 and Spring Boot 3.0Experience in working on end-to-end (E2E) solutionsExperience with DevOps Pipeline, GIT, JIRA, Confluence, Cloud Foundry, AWS, Splunk, Cloud Watch, and XrayKnowledge of financial technologies, standards, and industry regulations (i.e., Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards)Prior technical lead role experience
