Software Development in Test Engineer

Ford is seeking to hire a person with software development in test expertise. This team develops control algorithms and produces code for vehicle features related to climate, starting, locking, lighting, alarms, windows, powered enclosures, and seats. Responsibilities include reviewing requirements, testing of high level functional specifications, and delivery of quality code using Matlab/Simulink or C in an Autosar Classic environment. They must possess the capability to conduct design reviews for new content, resolve vehicle/bread board software issues, unit test content, and ideally have 5+ years of engineering work experience and domain knowledge.

5+ years of experience in Software Development/Testing 3+ years of hands-on experience in test automation with Python Experience with embedded systems testing Strong coding skills in Python Proficiency with GIT for version control Experience with Linux operating systems

 

Required Degree/Major 

Experience with Automotive systems development/testing Experience with CAN, LIN, and SomeIP interfaces Experience with CI/CD configuration and tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD) Experience with BASH scripting 1+ years of vehicle network (CAN/LIN) experience

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or a related field of study 7+ years of engineering work experience 5+ years of Algorithm Design for Embedded hardware and/or software design

 

 

Verify functional requirements and manage change requests to the software design Deliver AutoSAR Classic software using Matlab/Simulink and/or C code Define software interfaces both at the AutoSAR Composition and ECU boundary for Signals and Services (SOME/IP) Provide software unit testing including familiarity quality code coverage metrics (Condition, Decision, MCDC and tools like Model Advisor/Polyspace) Resolve issues during internal software Integration or at vehicle breadboard  Directly test software function using virtual and physical hardware Support vehicle launch
