We are looking for a Software Development Manager who is passionate about building services and tools that leverage artificial intelligence and machine learning. You will be part of a team owning the Amazon CloudShell public service meant to enhance the developer experience when interacting with AWS Services. The ideal candidate will have good knowledge around terminals and web terminal technologies, a data, metrics, and performance background, to own continually improving the quality of our AWS GenAI tools surfaced in CloudShell.
This is a highly visible position that will interact at all levels of AWS. Your ability to communicate and influence others will be a key to success.

Key job responsibilities
- Innovate in the space of Dev Tools and web terminals with AI
- Re-Invent the experience of working with terminals and managing resources in the shell with Amazon Q
- Working with engineering teams to translate customer needs into workable technology solutions that scale operationally
- Building and delivering products and services in the Developer Tools space
- Hiring, mentoring, and growing a high performing engineering team
- Working closely with the engineers to architect and develop the best technical design to solve customer problems at scale
- Operating critical systems and services
- Participating in an on-call rotation every ~1-2 months

About the team
You would work on the Amazon Web Services (AWS) Next Gen DevX (NGDE) team where we are going to use generative AI and foundation models to reimagine the experience of all builders on AWS. From the IDE to web based tools and services AI will help engineers to work on large and small applications. In this team we have to explore new technologies and find creative solutions. Curiosity and an explorative mindset can find a place to impact the life of engineers around the world.

Utility Computing (UC)
AWS Utility Computing (UC) provides product innovations — from foundational services such as Amazon’s Simple Storage Service (S3) and Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2), to consistently released new product innovations that continue to set AWS’s services and features apart in the industry. As a member of the UC organization, you’ll support the development and management of Compute, Database, Storage, Internet of Things (Iot), Platform, and Productivity Apps services in AWS, including support for customers who require specialized security solutions for their cloud services.
