Software Development Manager, Tax and Invoicing Experience
Description Amazon's International Seller Services (ISS) org is seeking talented software engineers to join the Tax and Invoicing Experience (TIE) team. We are looking for smart, enthusiastic, and passionate individuals to solve complex technical problems and work with engineering and business teams distributed across the globe. Key job responsibilities Team Leadership: - Lead software developers to deliver quality code - Mentor and provide feedback to team members - Drive team collaboration and knowledge sharing - Recruit and retain developers Project Management: - Lead software development projects - Work with stakeholders on requirements and goals - Create project plans and allocate resources - Track progress and manage risks Technical Direction: - Monitor technology trends and practices - Guide team on design patterns and standards - Implement new technologies and tools - Promote learning culture Process Management: - Optimize development lifecycle and workflows - Maintain development and testing practices - Remove process inefficiencies - Improve team productivity Stakeholder Engagement: - Communicate with product, design and business teams - Convert business needs to technical solutions - Report team progress to management - Build relationships across departments A day in the life Team Activities: Hold 1-on-1s for feedback and support Lead team meetings for priorities and blockers Coach members on technical and soft skills Enable team collaboration Project Tasks: Review backlog with stakeholders Track progress and manage risks Join design talks and code reviews Update stakeholders on project status Process Work: Track metrics for productivity and quality Refine development workflows Evaluate new tools and technologies Work with other teams to improve delivery About the team The Tax and Invoicing Experience(TIE) team is responsible for building Customer and Seller Experiences (CX and SX) that cater to all invoicing products and the corresponding legislative programs. Basic Qualifications - 7+ years of engineering experience - 3+ years of engineering team management experience - 8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services experience - Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations - Experience partnering with product or program management teams Preferred Qualifications - Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy - Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers Our inclusive culture empowers Amazonians to deliver the best results for our customers.
