We are seeking a Software Development Manager to lead a team building key components of our workplace experience platform. This role offers the opportunity to drive technical innovation in how Amazon employees discover, access, and interact with workplace services and information. You will own critical services that bridge multiple enterprise systems, delivering seamless experiences that help Amazonians be more productive in their workspace. As a Software Development Manager, you will lead a team of talented engineers in designing and delivering solutions that scale globally. You will collaborate closely with product managers, UX designers, and partner engineering teams to define and execute your team's technical strategy. Your role involves translating business requirements into technical solutions, mentoring engineers in their career growth, and establishing development practices that enable your team to deliver consistently. You'll be responsible for the full lifecycle of your services, from design through deployment and operational excellence. The ideal candidate brings strong technical depth and experience leading software development teams. You should have a track record of delivering customer-focused solutions and growing engineering talent. It will have 6-10 members, including SDE's, Front End engineers, and a TPM. They will closely collaborate with sister teams in India and in the US. Basic Qualifications - 3+ years of engineering team management experience - 7+ years of engineering experience - 8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services experience - Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations - Experience partnering with product or program management teams - Experience designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems Preferred Qualifications - Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy - Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers Our inclusive culture empowers Amazonians to deliver the best results for our customers.
