Your role:
As a Software Discipline Manager, you drive organisational effectiveness by defining engineering processes, aligning workforce capacity with delivery milestones, and strategically structuring teams.
Working within a collaborative team environment we’re searching for an inspirational leader, who can drive exceptional outcomes while empowering and motivating teams to achieve their full potential.
This position is based at our World Trade Centre office in Melbourne CBD.
Some key responsibilities include:
Working with fellow Discipline Managers and Heads of Discipline to define engineering processesMatching workload demand, workforce capacity, delivery milestones, and career growthDefining organisational structure, in particular the shaping of teams and squads to maximise the delivery and learning effectivenessLine management of Software Engineers including but not limited to recruitment, performance management, and trainingManaging business processes across engineering, delivery, and country/group departmentsRole modelling successful delivery and embedding agile ways of working, connecting squads with organisational objectives, to achieve alignment between our process and our overarching goalsOn day one you will come with experience across:
People Management: experience in managing large teams working in complex programs within an enterprise environmentDelivery: Experience in working with large teams, collaboratively working towards a greater vision as part of the collective component team or feature teamsProcess: Deep understanding of traditional and modern software development practices, in particular including DevOps and Agile.Software: Strong understanding of different programming languages, in particular Java (C/C++, and Ada is an advantage)Tools: Jira, Confluence, Teams, and other collaboration toolingStakeholder Management: experience working with stakeholders across multiple departments, skillsets, and countries/cultures*Australian Citizenship to be able to obtain defence clearance#LI-HN1
